About Financial Tier

Free, accurate financial calculators built for real decisions.

Our Mission

Financial Tier was built with one goal: give every American access to the same financial planning tools that used to require expensive financial software or a paid advisor. Every calculator on this site is completely free, requires no account, and collects no personal data.

We believe financial literacy is a right, not a privilege. Whether you're calculating your first mortgage payment, figuring out how much to save for retirement, or understanding what percentage of your paycheck goes to taxes — you deserve accurate answers instantly.

What We Build

Financial Tier offers 16 financial calculators covering the most important financial decisions Americans make:

  • Loans & Mortgages: Mortgage, affordability, refinance, HELOC, auto loan, personal loan
  • Debt & Credit: Credit card payoff, debt snowball/avalanche payoff
  • Savings & Investment: Compound interest, retirement, savings goal, investment return (ROI)
  • Taxes & Income: Federal income tax, paycheck/take-home pay, Roth vs. Traditional IRA, net worth

Every calculator uses verified formulas cross-referenced against official sources including Bankrate, the IRS, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Reserve. Tax brackets and rate data are updated for 2026 as soon as published by the IRS and FRED.

Our Data Sources

Interest rates on Financial Tier (30-year mortgage, 15-year mortgage, auto loan, prime rate, fed funds rate, savings rate) are sourced from the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) API, which aggregates data from Freddie Mac's Primary Mortgage Market Survey, the Federal Reserve H.15 release, and other official surveys. Rates update daily.

Income tax brackets, standard deduction amounts, and FICA wage bases come directly from IRS.gov publications — specifically IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-28 for 2026 inflation adjustments.

Privacy Commitment

All calculations on Financial Tier happen entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No financial data you enter — not your income, not your mortgage amount, not your retirement balance — is ever sent to our servers, stored in a database, or shared with any third party.

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate page traffic (pages visited, device types, geographic region). We do not use your calculator inputs for analytics. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How We Stay Free

Financial Tier is supported by non-intrusive display advertising through Google AdSense. Ads are clearly separated from calculator content and never interrupt your calculations. We will never charge for access to any calculator, require account creation, or sell user data. That's a promise.

Accuracy & Limitations

Financial Tier calculators are designed for education and planning. They produce estimates — your actual loan terms, tax liability, and investment returns will depend on factors specific to your situation (credit score, lender terms, state laws, investment selection, etc.).

We recommend using our calculators to understand the landscape of your financial decision, then verifying results with a licensed financial advisor, CPA, mortgage broker, or attorney before taking action. For tax matters, always confirm with a CPA or use IRS.gov tools.
